The 5th grade committee is putting together a slideshow to celebrate our students' years at NHE to play before the graduation ceremony! Please submit ten photos of your student to be included. We want to see all of our students represented. Send pictures taken at school events, such as field trips, Knight Run, Science Knight, Go Texan Day, Veteran's Day, Daddy/Daughter Dance, etc.

GRADUATION CEREMONY

May 25, 2027  |  6 PM  |  Stratford Playhouse

 

The graduation ceremony includes special awards recognizing every 5th grade student. Student attire is typically "Sunday-best", though there is no official dress code. Please have students arrive by 5:30 PM.

 

Audience seating is first come, first serve, with the exception of limited reserved seating purchased by the NHE PTA silent auction winners. Each 5th grade student's family will receive eight audience seats, and admission will be by wristband only. Wristbands will be sent home with students in their school folders closer to the event.

 

BOOGIE DOWN BROADGREEN

May 26, 2027  |  Following Dismissal  |  NHE to Broadgreen Drive in the Westchester Subdivision

 

The entire NHE community is invited to line Broadgreen Drive to cheer on our graduating 5th graders by blowing bubbles and squirting water guns as they parade by. Please help us be respectful of our neighbors by NOT bringing water balloons! Our goal is to leave the street cleaner than when we arrived. All students should wear clothing they are comfortable getting wet in.

 

All 5th grade students should wear their 5th grade shirts on the last day of school. At dismissal, they will gather in the NHE cafeteria to sign each other's shirts before beginning the parade. Please do not bring yearbooks, as we do not want them to get ruined or lost during the celebration.

 

END OF YEAR CELEBRATION

May 26, 2027  |  12-2 PM  |  Westchester Clubhouse

 

The parade will take place along Broadgreen Drive in Westchester and end at the Westchester pool. This event is for 5th grade students only, and a signed waiver and completed swim test at the event, are required in order to participate.

 

Complimentary pizza and refreshments will be provided for all students! Students will not need money. For the comfort of all attendees, we kindly request that students wear swim attire that is modest, age-appropriate, and suitable for a  school-sponsored event. Students are welcome to wear their swimsuits underneath their 5th grade shirts for easy changing after the parade. Please send your child to school with a towel and sunscreen.

 

Students must be picked up promptly at 2 PM sharp!

 Inclement Weather Plan: If the weather looks stormy by 9 AM on Friday, May 22, 2026, with no signs of clearing, we’ll move the celebration indoors to the NHE gym and cafeteria from 10:30-11:30 AM. The celebration would end at 11:30 AM in time for early dismissal. Students will then head home using their normal transportation route for early dismissal.

 

5TH GRADE YEARBOOK OPPORTUNITIES

NHE PTA Yearbooks are on sale until April 9, 2027! Early-bird pricing is available through October 31, 2026 for $35. Purchasing an ad does not secure the purchase of a book.

Books can be purchased online through Treeing.

Students, let's get creative! Please submit a piece of artwork that you feel best reflects this year's NHE yearbook theme, "Planting Seeds of Success," and your artwork could be selected as the cover of the NHE yearbook! NHE staff anonymously vote on their favorite student submission. Please see the yearbook webpage for specific rules and guidelines, and submit artwork to the homeroom teacher.

Parents, please submit your child's photo for each year of school, Kindergarten through 5th grade (six pictures total), to the Yearbook Committee before the deadline! There is no cost to be included in the yearbook and every student will be featured. Photos do not have to be past NHE school pictures. The committee will accept both physical and digital copies.
