Dear NHE parents/guardians, students and community,

On behalf of the entire PTA, I would like to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! I have the
honor and privilege of serving as your PTA president for this school year and look forward to
being a part of the incredible programs and events brought to you by the Nottingham PTA
through generous donors like yourselves, and countless volunteer hours in our community.

For those I haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet, hello, and I hope to have the pleasure of
meeting you soon. I am always up for a cup of coffee – just reach out! I am married to an
extremely patient and loving man (thanks, Randy!) and together we have a third grader and
kindergartner at Nottingham this year, along with college triplets who I inherited when we got
married. I am surrounded by boys but wouldn’t have it any other way. I grew up in a large family,
and we lived in Westchester where I too, attended Nottingham, Spring Forest and Stratford, so
sending my own children through the same schools is a very full-circle moment for me!

Enough about me – there’s time for that over coffee! Let’s chat PTA! If you have ever wondered
what all the PTA does and how you can help support, please reach out any time. Any one of our
incredible Board members would be happy to share insight into the many things the PTA does
as well as find a perfect spot for you to help! And yes, moms, dads, students, teachers,
grandparents, community members – all of you – can become a valued member of our PTA!

The PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering
families and communities to advocate for all children. From creating awareness around
advocacy, bringing together the entire NHE population for hands-on science experiments,
promoting and embracing the uniqueness that is your child through cultural events and
speakers, executing a family-friendly fall event to enrich our community relationships, to
showing monthly appreciation toward the entire school staff, the PTA exists to support
Nottingham in more ways than one.

The school’s population has continued to grow and we are at nearly 800 students! Did you know
there are more than 30 languages spoken by our students? How neat is that! We have a
massive opportunity in front of us to embrace diversity and cultural differences and to teach our
children to accept and welcome all differences among us. This year, the PTA is adding a focus
on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) by supporting – both financially and through volunteers
– additional programs for our ever-growing and ever-changing NHE population. We are also
putting a greater emphasis on volunteer support and asking you to step up and volunteer with
NHE. With the large number of working parents and scheduling challenges, we are seeking to
provide you with volunteer opportunities not just during the school day. There will be more
information to come on this – keep an eye out for communication through the weekly newsletter
and in your child’s take-home folder.

On behalf of the PTA, I hope you feel welcomed at Nottingham, and if there is ever anything we
can do to make you or your child’s educational experience better, please feel free to send your
suggestions or comments my way. We are all anticipating a terrific year ahead and look forward
to embracing this year’s theme, the future is bright with the NHE Knights!

Warm wishes for a safe, happy, healthy and bright year,

Megan Rosenbaum
Nottingham PTA President
