– 2017 SBISD Bond Program –
The $898.4M 2017 SBISD Bond Program included a rebuild of 10 campuses including Nottingham Elementary, which was originally built in 1969. After extensive discovery and planning phases with architect, PBK, the SBISD Board and a community-based Advisory Team, plans for a new campus were finalized.
The re-design and construction of NHE, slated to open Fall 2023, focuses on collaborative and flexible learning experiences, and includes classroom technology, campus security, basic playground equipment, access to hands-on learning, natural light, outdoor spaces, and much more.
– why we need a capital campaign –
The NHE new build budget does not include replacing every item we have today, many that our students and our community benefit from greatly, such as a Pre-K playground, a garden, additional swings, and more. Thus, any preferred equipment not included in district standards and preferred upgrades need to be funded outside of the bond.
We need our community’s support to fund the Nottingham Elementary School’s new build additions and enhancements. We’re urging our community to fulfill donations by November 1, 2022 in order to commit to high priority items that either can’t be added after construction or are cost-prohibitive.
